For each study, you will receive an invitation by email to participate. The community research will be conducted on the Web. All you need to do is click on the link or copy and paste the Website address into your browser window. Then, simply follow the instructions on the screen to complete the survey. The survey link will also appear on the community website under the “My Activities” page.
Not necessarily. We will do our best to identify studies that look like a match based on your profile, but our sponsoring clients may include criteria which is not part of our membership information. In these cases, the only way to know if you qualify will be to ask you up front in the survey. In cases when your household does not fit the criteria, we will try and notify you quickly and release you from completing any more of that survey.
On average, you will be sent a survey invitation about once or twice per month. There will also be new QuickPolls posted to the site every week or two, as well as occasional new discussion forums for you to participate in.
You are welcome to take part in as many surveys and discussion forums as you like.
On average, our surveys are approximately 10-15 minutes; however, some can be as short as 5 minutes and others can be longer than 15 minutes. All surveys and activities are completely voluntary and we let you know the approximate length of the survey in the invitation so you can plan accordingly. As well, surveys can be stopped and restarted later from where you left off if you are in a hurry.
Yes, community members can opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the website to cancel their membership. Alternatively, members can submit a request via the Contact Us form or send an email to email@example.com with the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
As a member of the InsurThought community, you may receive different types of compensation depending on the type of research you participate in. For most surveys and activities, you will be awarded points that can be redeemed for Amazon vouchers online after you have accumulated a minimum number of points. For other projects you may receive a product to try or some other compensation such as an entry into a prize draw or contest. Our invitation for each survey or other activity will state the compensation.

We collect some personal data about each member for a number of reasons:

Don't worry – it will not be possible for any individual respondent to be identified from the results. Your information will only be used for research purposes.
At the start of some surveys we may screen you to ensure you fit in to the category or group of people we are seeking answers from. This screening will help ensure we can get the most accurate data and information directly related to our questions and may mean we will screen you out of a survey. Example screening categories are things like geo, location, employment status etc. If you are screened out it will mean you cannot participate in the survey and you will not receive any points for that activity.
You will only receive points for surveys you complete in full. If you are screened out of a survey because you do not meet certain criteria that the survey is targeting e.g. age, location, employment status etc. you will not receive any points for that survey.
